The Boy and Heaven

I received this picture from a friend and it touched my heart like no
many pictures ever have in my life.The very first second I saw it, I
thought about Daniel.

This long, seemingly never ending alley of snow covered trees without
leaves may be a picture of our life here on earth.
The old man in the long black coat waits patiently for the boy.
This boy, who is just the same age as Daniel when he died, stands in
front of the ladder, seemingly not knowing what to do.
"Come, little boy", the old man seems to say, "leave this world and
ascend into heaven. I'll hold the ladder for you. Do not be afraid."

"Should I climb up, or should I continue on my way here on earth?"
I am sure the boy thinks about his mother, father, brothers and
sisters. But the riches and glory in heaven are so overwhelmingly
beautiful. And he deserves to be taken to heaven.

It is tough to continue on the snow covered alley, which does not
provide much shelter against the ice cold wind and snow, but some
day down the road I will meet an old man, who is waiting and holding
a ladder for me, too.
